Voter ID Laws and the Rebirth of Journalism

You may remember the ACORN scandal four years ago, where James O'Keefe exposed the rampant fraud being easy to commit to obtain government funds.  Well, Mr. O'Keefe is back and better than ever.  I'm sad to say, he's one of the few journalists left in the country.  Our press is supposed to be a watchdog, not a lapdog like our mainstream media has become.  Mr. O'Keefe, I salute your efforts, and I'm thankful for the work you do.  If only our mainstream media could have the integrity to actually investigate our government.

Entitlements

Americans have had so much smoke blown up their asses, they now reject anything truthful.  We've had such a yes-man leadership for so long we can no longer handle anyone telling it like it is.  That's why Ron Paul never had a chance, he's constantly ridiculed for speaking truth. 
Being an isolationist didn't cause world wars, not being isolationist dragged us into them.  However, no one in this country seems to understand that we've been sold a bill of goods, and now it's time to pay the piper. 

No matter who wins the upcoming election, Americans have hard times ahead.  There are many people in this country asking, "what can my country do for me?"  instead of, "What can I do for my country?"  Now, I know there are plenty of good people out there willing to work hard for a living, and many willing to fight to preserve our freedoms, but at this point those people have become the minority.  Congress has a dismal approval rating of 10%.  Even so, despite a huge conservative movement known as the TEA Party, we managed to re-elect 87% of our representatives from the house, and 84% of our senators.  We've built a society full of entitlements that we cannot sustain, but if anyone talks about getting rid of them, they're crucified as hating the poor or elderly.  I don't hate poor people, I just wish they'd get a job.  They can afford booze and cigarettes, but not their own cell phone?  They can afford a new flat-screen, but can't pay the rent?  I can't be the only one that thinks we're on our way to a financial collapse.


Quantitative Easing

History buffs might recall a little something called the Weimar Republic, who's currency collapsed as a result of quantitative easing.  This is the same nonsense that the Federal Reserve has done thrice, and this third time they've said they will continue to print money until the economy gets better (don't hold your breath).  This is the economic and monetary policy that good libertarians like Ron Paul have been warning us about.  There's a reason we need to audit the Federal Reserve, they're destroying the dollar's value, and I don't know about you, but I don't get paid in gold and rubies.

Gold has a steady value on its own, because there is a finite amount of it in the world.  Sure, we tried to make it ourselves through alchemy, but eventually chemists figured out that it is an element, and can't be created from mixing base metals.  The only time the value of gold can really decline is when we find more of it, which isn't as easy as firing up a printing press.

That brings me to the dollar, that is constantly losing value every time we print more.  This is because the less rare or difficult to come by something is, the less valuable.  You may have noticed that the stock market went up when quantitative easing started again.  Many unthinking number watchers believe that the stocks they own are now worth more, but in truth, the dollar is just worth less.  If you haven't noticed, the cost of living continues to climb, and quantitative easing will only make it worse.   Everyone in America will be taking a pay cut as a result of this, unless their salary raises can outpace the dismal fall of our currency's value.  


Spending

Our government has decided deficits don't matter.  Apparently we can afford to finance countries that hate us as well.  We have a president who apologizes for the freedoms we have, and constantly cow-tows to the rest of the world.  Now our government is afraid to take away money granted to foreign countries for fear they'll hate us more.  We give out no bid government contracts (see cronyism), and silly liberals have been convinced that "evil corporations" are responsible for the mess we're in.  Corporations aren't evil, the politicians that give them handouts are the ones to blame.


Weakness of Leadership

No amount of money will keep these crazy goat fucking ambassador killers from hating us, because we are the infidel, and their little holy book says they should conquer us, make us their slaves, or kill us in the name of their "peaceful" religion.  Years of indoctrination from mosques have convinced these people they shouldn't have any fun, or be happy.  Anyone that does is obviously evil in their eyes.  Our leaders can only apologize for a video (that didn't seem to bother anyone until September 11th), and say we shouldn't upset the Muslims.  This kind of weakness is something Britain tried with a tiny mustache wearing Austrian upstart name Adolf, and it didn't really help things.  Just ask these unlucky formerly Nazi occupied countries:

Hatred of the Left

I check the news articles online, and whenever there is an article about Mitt Romney the lefties come out in droves to bash him in the comments section.  It's very unsettling how hateful and ignorant these people are.  The supposedly tolerant left seems to hate anything they don't understand, especially Mormons.  There are always cracks about the planet Kolob and magic underwear, and I wish I could say I'm surprised, but truth be told the Democrats have always been the party of hate. 



The Solid South is a good example of the Democrats' hateful roots.  Even today, there is clear evidence the Democratic Party's divisiveness.  The assumption that welfare reform is racist by Democrats is clear cut evidence they think only minorities need welfare and entitlements.  Democrats contend that minorities need more help to get a job or education with affirmative action and racial quotas.  They must think minorities are too stupid or unskilled to obtain these without help from the Nanny State.  Democrats also seem to think minorities are too stupid to obtain a photo ID, made evident by their fierce opposition of voter ID laws designed to eliminate voter fraud.  Eric Holder believes the Texas voter ID law is racist because minorities won't be able to afford the fee to obtain photo IDs.  Ironically, the Republican dominated state of Texas has passed a law requiring these IDs be given to anyone who can't afford it.  I guess Holder doesn't educate himself before he opens his mouth.

When a huge tide of fiscal conservatism fueled the TEA Party movement, Democrats immediately cried "Racist!"  Apparently they're projecting their own shortcomings on the opposition that wants fiscal responsibility and a limit on Federal power.

I've always believed in our Constitution, so I find it unbearable to see it completely undermined by Ds and Rs alike.  Libertarians and Constitutionalists are concerned with equal opportunity, and equal protection under the law.  Apparently Democrats are only concerned with "equal results."  It amounts to pandering for votes, and unfortunately, it's working.  I'm guessing this is because our education system is now decimated by Federal programs like "no child left behind."  It's almost like the Ds & Rs are tag teaming the American people in a gang rape on freedom.  Hopefully young movements by the GOOOH Party and the Libertarian Party can bring real change and debate to the political landscape, but with the lack of wit and education in this country's populace, we're not likely to keep our liberties much longer.  The Nanny State has us in a scorpion death lock, and as long as we buy into the two party system, we'll never escape it.  Our fore-fathers and even some old school Democrats knew the way to make this system work, and their words of wisdom are timeless and worth repeating.

James Eagan Holmes Shooting: Strict Gun Laws Only Lead to More Violent Crim

In the wake of the tragic Aurora, Colo., shooting carried out by the hatable James Holmes, the usual suspects have been clamoring for more gun control laws, inserting their own narrative as they go. They say that it’s time for a new ‘"ational discussion" on guns and whether or not more restrictions are needed. While well intentioned, their argument misses the point, and has for decades. Gun control laws are not and have never been a deterrent to violent criminals.
Those that press for increased gun control believe that if you make it harder to legally purchase a gun, the crime rate will go down. While it sounds like it would make perfect sense, the fact is that most gun-related deaths and injuries in the United States are not committed with legally purchased guns. The majority of them have been the result of criminals and younger people who were not able to legally purchase a gun. They were purchased on the black market.
Like those who believed that prohibition would curtail the use of alcohol, those that constantly push for stricter gun laws are often aghast to find that the opposite continues to be true. Two significant factors for increased gun violence have been and continue to be economic hardship and stricter gun laws.
Poverty has been one of the things that has continually been twisted as an excuse to say that states with more lax gun laws tend to have more crime. States like Louisiana, which regularly ranks as one of the worst states for violent crimes, is also quite impoverished in some parts, a fact that most people tend to leave out when pointing to its lax gun laws.
Other factors that contribute regularly to gun related violence include low education rates and a high number of illegal immigrants. These reasons more than explain why states like Texas and Arizona have suffered from a relatively high number of gun-related deaths. Texas has the lowest high school graduation rate in the country, while Arizona has had one of the largest problems with illegal immigrants committing crimes for years.
When one takes the time to compare the numbers, it becomes obvious that many of the states with the strictest gun control laws are also home to some of the largest numbers of gun related crime. Maryland, California, Illinois, New York and the District of Columbia all have some of the toughest gun laws on the books. Illinois in particular has made it extremely difficult to buy a handgun. Despite this, there have been over 250 murders in Chicago since January 1, a staggering 37% increase when compared to this time last year. Strict gun laws have done little to deter violent crime.
Gun control laws also have been shown to disproportionally affect African Americans and other minorities negatively. Most of the gun-related crime that plagues American streets has had a substantially harsher impact on non-whites.
People choose to blame the guns for the actions of the violent criminals that use them. They'll say that the guns makes it easier, trying to come off witty and clever. At the end of the day however, blaming a gun for one’s death is like blaming a fork for another’s obesity. One way or another, the food was probably going to find its way into their mouth. Criminals that don’t have guns will use knives, bombs, sticks and bare hands.
Criminals don’t care about gun-free zones or waiting periods. Making it more difficult for people to legally purchase guns only leaves them more vulnerable. The law-abiding citizen will refrain from purchasing a gun, while the criminal will simply get one off the streets.
When gun ownership goes up, crime rates drop severely. There are several examples, which highlight this beautifully. Switzerland’s gun laws are some of the most lax in the developed world, and because of it their violent crime rate is astoundingly low. Recent initiatives to try and reign in the countries relaxed gun laws were soundly defeated at the ballot by Swiss voters.
The town of Kennesaw, Georgia, also has a mandatory gun ownership law on the books. Passed in 1982, it requires that the head of a household own a gun and ammunition, with exceptions of course being violent criminals, those that cannot afford it, and conscientious objectors. After the law was passed, the population swelled and the crime rate dropped substantially.
Not everyone wants to own a gun. Some people don’t feel comfortable around guns in general. Others are worried about accidents. Still, the data speaks for itself. In areas where gun ownership is high, violent gun-related crime tends to go down. No one in their right mind will want to break into a house or start a fight in a bar if they know everyone is packing.
Even if anti-gun fanatics like NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg got their way and made it next to impossible to purchase a firearm, it wouldn’t stop the John Holmes’ of the world. If he didn’t have a gun at his disposal, he might have assembled another home made bomb like those found in his apartment, and taken that into the theater instead. Stricter gun control laws are not the answer, a stance that was (thankfully) reiterated by GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Monday.
The Second Amendment was not meant to guarantee easy access to hunting or target shooting. It was written to ensure that a population could defend itself from an overreaching government, an overbearing police force or a criminal. People have the right to defend themselves. At the end of the day, states like Illinois and California have only served to make it more difficult for their law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from criminals.
The gun didn’t make James Holmes kill those people. His own sick mind did that. If gun control laws are doubled down on, more people will have their hands tied when it comes to protecting themselves and their loved ones from psychopaths like that. Thankfully, that is something that the families of the victims in Aurora understand, despite the tragic events that they've had to go through.

Silly President, Civilian Trials are for Civilians!

Anyone else remember when Eric Holder said we'd try terrorists and find them guilty?  When the head of the DOJ is claiming guilt without trial, doesn't that make the trial pointless?

How easy is it for a terrorist to get a mistrial?  Simple, just put Eric Holder in charge.  Some slick asshole lawyer will use Holder's words against him to have a mistrial declared.
