Before anyone uses the madatory driver's insurance argument, let me point out that the law does not require you to buy insurance. In Texas anyway, the law is you must have proof of financial responsibility. That means Texans are free to self-insure. I find it suspicious that our Federal Government now expects us to swallow a plan that has both criminal and civil penalties, even if you have saved enough money to self-insure.
